Ruby Session – Peace in the Storm

Pastor Ebun Abarshie
Pastor Ebun Abarshie
When things fall apart – in our personal lives, between loved ones, in our communities, in our institutions and our faith in those who lead us, between nations, between us and God’s creation how do communities of faith respond?
How do we work together with God’s Spirit to heal, reconcile, to comfort and challenge, to give hope?

We do realise that there are conflicts in life and sometimes it’s not always “happy days”.
It’s probably quite useful discussing how one can deal with these problems.
How do we keep the ball rolling in the midst of a storm within?
How do we handle conflicts and contradictions?
What does one do when your leader says “NO” when you feel it should be a “YES”
How do you pass a message across different audiences?
How do we de-escalate troubling scenarios, conversations and times?

Let’s explore together the importance of our ministry as christians in difficult times, looking especially at how our christian celebration is reflected in our life in the world.

Ebun is a mother, pastor and doctor with experience in palliative care medicine so we feel she would be able to help us wade through these delicate topics.
Remember, this isn’t a lecture or a course. It’s an open discussion.
See you there.

We feel strongly passionate about this session and the session feedback from last year motivated us to extend it from thirty minutes to to one hour.

Please post your questions for Ebun here and we will pass it on her to preview and respond to.
If your query/question is personal, please email it to protocol@havenx.org.
We will do our best to find an answer for you.

  1. Hi Verishua,

    Thanks for your comment.
Activities on Friday include the plenary session, worship session and importation service as well.
We would love to add more activities for Friday but that would run late into the evening.

This is the first time the conference would include a Friday and we are keen to see the response.
We will take your comment on board though when planning Haven 2019.

Kindly let me know if you have any more suggestions or ideas.
I will be happy to put them on the planning table.

    Ade.
